On the initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, the European Day of Civil Justice is celebrated every year on 25 October. Judicial institutions of the Member States are invited to actively participate in the celebration of this day, by organising events for a wide public and judicial professionals.

The main event of the day, with the participation of representatives of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, will be held on 25 October 2011, at the Court of First Instance of Toulouse (France).

In the presence of representatives of the European Commission, the Council of Europe and high personalities of the political and judicial area, the debates will be center around the development of the European judicial area, the means to better known the civil judicial cooperation and the legislative instruments which it implements, the participation of the legal professions to the European judicial network in civil and commercial matters, and the E-Justice portail.

Workshops, led to the initiative of legal profession and animated by experts and professionals, will enrich the debates on the following themes:
- The European public order and the treatment of civil litigation (judges)
- The posting of workers between Member States of the European Union (lawyers)
- The free movement of the authentic act (notaries)
- The improvement of the enforcement of judgments within the European Union (judicial officers)
- The enforcement of the European partnership acts (in house counsels)

The head of the EJE project will present the project, its objectives and its developments, during the workshop dedicated to the improvement of the enforcement of judgments in Europe.
